Flooring for your business
The best commercial floor depends on footfall, spills and noise: carpet for quiet offices, LVT or vinyl where floors get wet or dirty, and hard-wearing laminate for lighter-use areas.
Know what to ask for
Commercial floors are graded for how much wear they can take, how they behave in a fire and how slip-resistant they are, so check the rating on the spec sheet before you buy.
How much commercial wear a floor can take. Class 33 suits the busiest areas, such as entrances and corridors.
Bfl-s1: a very limited contribution to fire, with low smoke (s1). The rating depends on how the floor is installed, so ask for the classification report.
A wet PTV of 36 or more is low slip risk, which matters most in kitchens, washrooms and entrances.
AC4 for general commercial use, AC5 for heavier commercial traffic. Keep laminate away from areas that get wet.
We’ll help you check the ratings for the floor you choose before you order.
Office carpet
Carpet tiles are easier to repair because single tiles can be swapped, while broadloom (carpet off a roll) gives a seamless finish and is often cheaper to buy.
| Carpet Tiles | Broadloom | |
|---|---|---|
| Finish | Modular squares | Seamless, off a roll |
| Repairs | Replace single damaged tiles | Usually re-fit a whole section |
| Underlay | Built-in backing | Separate underlay |
| Best for | Busy offices, under desks, access floors | Meeting rooms, reception, executive offices |
| Cost to buy | Usually higher | Usually lower |

Yes. We supply and fit flooring for businesses as well as homes, including offices, shops, salons, cafés and rental properties around Chorley.
A hard-wearing commercial carpet is the most popular choice for offices because it’s quieter and warmer underfoot. Look for a commercial use-class rating: class 32 for general office use, class 33 for the busiest areas.
LVT is a strong choice: it handles heavy footfall, wipes clean and comes in wood and stone looks.
A water-resistant floor such as vinyl or LVT, in a slip-resistant range. Check the pendulum test value (PTV): a wet PTV of 36 or more is classed as low slip risk.
It’s the heavy commercial use rating for floor coverings under EN 1307 and EN ISO 10874, suitable for the busiest areas such as entrances and corridors. Class 31 is moderate and class 32 is general commercial use.
It’s a reaction-to-fire class for floor coverings under EN 13501-1. “Bfl” means a very limited contribution to fire and “s1” means low smoke. The rating applies to the tested product and installation method, so ask for the manufacturer’s classification report.
