Local homes
Liverpool’s homes range from Victorian terraces to new city-centre flats, and each type needs something different from its floor.
Many terraces have narrow, steep stairs and original timber floorboards. We check old boards for loose or squeaky spots before fitting, and a good underlay smooths out small dips. A dense, hard-wearing carpet is the best choice for the stairs.
A bay-window lounge is a big area to carpet, and the bay needs careful planning so the join doesn’t sit in the middle of the room. A soft saxony or wool blend suits the lounge, and LVT works well in a knocked-through kitchen.
Most flats have concrete floors, which suit LVT and vinyl. Many leases have rules about noise between flats, and some require a sound-reducing underlay under hard floors. Check your lease, and tell us at the measure.
Rentals need floors that are hard-wearing, easy to clean and quick to fit between tenants. Sheet vinyl and LVT suit kitchens and bathrooms, and a hard-wearing twist carpet suits bedrooms and stairs.

Stairs and landings
Stairs are the hardest-working floor in the house. That’s especially true in terraces, where a single narrow flight takes all the traffic. We measure and fit stair carpet and stair runners for straight flights, winders and landings, and every flight is priced individually after a free measure.
