We supply and fit cushioned vinyl flooring (often called cushion floor) across Chorley from our shop on Steeley Lane: warm, quiet and wipe-clean floors for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and rentals, in wood-effect, tile-effect and stone-look designs, fitted by our own team. Vinyl starts from £9.99 per square yard, the home measure is free, and your quotation arrives within 24 hours.
Vinyl explained
Sheet vinyl is a flexible floor that comes off a roll, usually 2m, 3m or 4m wide, so most kitchens and bathrooms can be covered in one piece with no joins. It has a printed wood, tile or stone design under a clear wear layer, on a cushioned backing that feels warm and soft underfoot.
It’s affordable, quiet, comfortable to stand on and simple to keep clean, which is why it’s still one of the most popular floors for kitchens, bathrooms and rentals.
Vinyl prices
Vinyl flooring in Chorley starts from £9.99 per square yard. That makes it one of the most affordable floors we fit, and your full price is set out in your quotation within 24 hours of a free home measure.
Why roll width matters: a 3m-wide kitchen fits neatly on a 3m roll in one piece. The wrong width means paying for offcuts, or a seam across the room. We measure for the width that suits your room.

Where it works best

Wipe-clean, soft underfoot if you drop a glass, and one piece across the floor with no joins for spills to creep into. Tile-effect and wood-effect designs are the most popular.
Water-resistant, warm underfoot, and sealed at the bath and shower edges. Choose a slip-resistant range (many felt-backed vinyls are rated R10).
An affordable, practical floor for small, hard-working rooms: utility rooms and downstairs toilets.
Budget-friendly and easy to clean between tenants. Our £799 landlord deal includes a kitchen in vinyl.
Want the look and feel of real boards, or herringbone? See LVT flooring or laminate flooring.
Vinyl flooring fitting
Every room measured and the floor checked. Vinyl is thin, so bumps, nail heads and board edges can show through.
Floorboards screwed down and overboarded with plywood if uneven or gappy. Uneven concrete smoothed. No underlay, which can make vinyl dent.
The sheet is cut around doors, pipes, kitchen units and bathroom fittings, ideally in one piece.
Small rooms can often be loose-laid or taped. Bigger rooms, or anywhere with wheeled traffic, are usually stuck down fully. Any seams are sealed.
Door bars and thresholds, plus a sealant line at baths and showers in wet rooms.
Avoid common problems
The North West is one of England’s wetter regions. After a walk round Yarrow Valley or Astley Park, a mat inside the back door saves your kitchen floor.

Sheet vinyl comes off a roll and is fitted in one flexible piece. LVT (luxury vinyl tile) comes as individual planks or tiles, feels firmer and more like real wood, and allows patterns like herringbone. Vinyl usually costs less.
Vinyl doesn’t absorb water, and fitting it in one piece means few or no joins for water to get through. In bathrooms the edges should be sealed at the bath and shower.
It depends on the range. Many felt-backed vinyls carry an R10 slip rating, and a textured finish helps too. For bathrooms, choose a slip-resistant range and wipe up standing water.
A felt-backed cushioned vinyl with a tough wear layer, in one piece if your kitchen width allows. Tile-effect and wood-effect designs hide everyday marks well.
Yes. It’s one of the most practical floors for homes with cats and dogs: water-resistant, easy to wipe clean after muddy paws or accidents, and warmer and softer underfoot than tiles. Sharp claws and dragged furniture can still nick or dent cushioned vinyl, so keep claws trimmed and put felt pads under furniture legs.
Not quite. Many people call vinyl “lino”, but true linoleum is made from linseed oil, wood or cork flour and a jute backing. Modern cushioned vinyl is PVC-based.
Yes, but the boards should be screwed down, and overboarded with plywood if they’re uneven or gappy. Otherwise the board edges and gaps show through the vinyl.
Sometimes, if the tiles are firm and flat. Grout lines can show through thin vinyl, so the floor may need smoothing first. We check this at your free measure.
No. Cushioned vinyl has its own backing, and adding underlay can make it dent and move.
Felt-backed is more stable and often slip-rated, which makes it good for kitchens and busy rooms. Foam-backed is softer and quieter, which suits bathrooms and bedrooms.
Often not. Rolls come in 2m, 3m and 4m widths, so most kitchens and bathrooms can be done in one piece. Where a join is needed, it’s sealed.
Many vinyl ranges can. Check the product’s limit (many floors are rated to about 27°C at the surface) and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
Rubber-backed mats can react with vinyl and leave permanent stains. Use mats labelled safe for vinyl floors.
Sweep or vacuum, then damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and steam mops unless the manufacturer allows them.
