We supply and fit LVT flooring in Chorley from our shop on Steeley Lane: luxury vinyl tiles from Karndean herringbone in hallways to waterproof planks in bathrooms and kitchens. Our own team fits click and glue-down LVT, including borders and feature patterns. LVT starts from £26.99 per m², the home measure is free, and your quotation arrives within 24 hours.
What is LVT?

LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a vinyl floor printed with a realistic wood or stone design and sealed under a clear protective wear layer. The core is vinyl, so water won’t make it swell, and it’s warmer and quieter than ceramic tiles. It’s tough enough for kids, pets and muddy boots.
The North West is one of England’s wetter regions. After a walk round Yarrow Valley or Astley Park, the hallway takes the mud and water, which is exactly where waterproof-core LVT earns its keep.

Choosing your LVT
Every LVT floor is one of three formats. The right one depends on your room, your subfloor and the look you want.

Herringbone LVT
Herringbone is the most asked-for LVT pattern we fit. Each board is cut and laid by hand in a zigzag, and a contrasting border around the edge frames the room, as in the hallway in this photo.
Getting the floor right
LVT is thin and smooth, so it shows anything beneath it: board joints, dips in concrete, lumps of old adhesive. Low winter sun through a back door makes it worse. That’s why the floor is checked at your free home measure.
Common in older terraces in Chorley East, Adlington and Coppull. Boards are screwed down and overboarded with plywood (Karndean recommends at least 5.5mm) so joints don’t show through.
Smoothed with a levelling compound. Karndean’s UK guidance mentions a minimum 3mm layer where needed.
Common in Buckshaw Village and Euxton. For glue-down LVT it must be below 75% relative humidity, the benchmark used with BS 8203. Fresh screed can take weeks to get there.
Most LVT works with it. Keep the surface no hotter than 27°C, and turn the heating off for 48 hours before, during and after fitting.

The vinyl core doesn’t absorb water, so it won’t swell like laminate. Water left standing can still get under the edges and joints, so wipe up spills promptly and have edges sealed in bathrooms.
Yes. LVT is one of the best floors for bathrooms and en-suites. Choose a slip-rated range (some are rated R10) and have the edges sealed.
Yes. No job is too small. We’ve fitted herringbone LVT in a small toilet, and we fit everything up to a full house. A small room gets the same subfloor preparation and neat finish as a big one.
Click LVT floats and is quicker to fit over a sound floor. Glue-down is bonded to a fully prepared subfloor, feels very solid, and allows herringbone, borders and feature strips. Rigid-core click is the most forgiving over small dips.
Wood-effect planks, from pale Scandinavian oak to dark smoked oak; herringbone; and stone and tile effects such as slate, marble and concrete. Some ranges also include parquet patterns like basketweave. We’ll bring samples of the looks you’re interested in to your free home measure.
Yes. Herringbone is the most popular LVT pattern we fit, including Karndean and Nordikka. It’s laid board by board, so it takes longer than straight planks and is itemised on your quotation.
Yes. Our recent LVT jobs include Karndean herringbone, and tile-effect Karndean fitted throughout a full house in Liverpool. We bring samples to your free home measure.
The Karndean LVT we fit comes with a lifetime residential warranty (manufacturer’s terms and conditions apply). Other LVT ranges carry their own manufacturer’s warranty, and we’ll confirm the cover for your chosen floor before you order.
Yes, once the boards are screwed down and overboarded with plywood, so the joints and gaps don’t show through the LVT.
Most LVT can. Keep the floor surface no hotter than 27°C, and turn the heating off before and after fitting, as the manufacturer instructs.
Around 0.3mm suits light-use rooms. 0.55mm or more suits busy family homes, hallways, kitchens and pets.
It’s scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. A 0.55mm wear layer and a matt, textured finish hide marks best. Keep claws trimmed and use felt pads on furniture.
Sweep or vacuum without the beater bar, then damp-mop with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid steam mops unless the manufacturer allows them.
