The most common complaint we hear about other carpet suppliers is a low price per square metre, followed by extras on the day for underlay, gripper and door bars. Every Prime quote lists the whole job.

Carpet comes in fixed roll widths, usually 4 m or 5 m. Your room is cut from that width, and patterned carpet has to be matched, so there’s always some waste. We show it on the quote.
No minimum order and no service fee. We’ll carpet a single box room or a whole house.
Carpets start from £6.99 per square yard. Everything else is set out in your full quote after the free measure. Your price is fixed after the free measure.

Straight answers
A dense twist or tight-pile carpet in nylon, wool or an 80/20 blend. How tightly the pile is packed matters more than how thick it is. Push your thumb in: if it springs back fast, it’ll wear well.
A cut pile (twist or saxony) in a mid-tone or flecked colour. Avoid loop pile and Berber, because claws catch the loops and pull them.
Polypropylene costs less and cleans easily, but flattens sooner in busy areas. Wool costs more, feels warmer and keeps its looks longer. An 80/20 blend sits in between.
Yes. Old underlay is flattened, so the new carpet’s backing takes the wear instead. Many carpet warranties also require suitable underlay. We put new underlay down every time.

Someone over 18 needs to let our fitters in and check the work at the end. You don't need to stay for the whole job.
Yes, standard furniture is included. Please empty wardrobes, drawers and bookcases first, and let us know about anything fragile or wall-mounted.
Yes. We can take up and dispose of your old carpet and underlay, and it's listed on your quote. For pensioners, uplift and removal are free.
Yes. We bring samples to your free home measure, and you can take samples home from the shop free of charge.
